Experienced Dental Management professionals are welcome to apply for this opportunity for a Group Operations Manager. 

Applicants should be able to demonstrate several years of management experience within the dental healthcare sector, ideally combined with appropriate management qualifications e.g. ILM Level 5. 

You will be joining a fast paced and innovative dental business, with overarching management responsibilities for clinical and administrative teams across multiple sites and locations from Devon to Hampshire. 

Working alongside both the Managing Partner and Clinical Director, the Group Operations Manager will contribute to strategic and operational goals and targets, developing both existing services and where appropriate, identifying opportunities to expand services. 

Previous experience of managing existing services is a prerequisite but experience of tendering and delivery of new tendered services would be highly advantageous. 

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • To establish effective systems for the day to day operational management of the business to be delivered through the Practice Managers and supporting staff.
  • To ensure that regular reporting arrangements are in place to enable the post holder, Management Team to manage the business.
  • To ensure that all the relevant policies protocols and procedures are in place and that these are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect best practice, statutory compliance and front-line experience.
  • To establish consistent processes and management responsibility covering the following:
    • General Purchasing
    • Equipment Purchase, Lease/Hire, Maintenance and Servicing
    • Estates
    • Patient Services
    • HR and Workforce
    • External/lnternal Communications
    • Health and Safety (including first aid)
    • COSHH
    • Risk Assessment
    • Fire Regulations
    • Utilities and cleaning
  • To ensure that there is regular progress reporting to the Management Team through the Practice Managers.

Financial Management

  • Responsible for liaison and communication with Bank Account Managers and Accountants. Line manage Group Finance Clerk to ensure Group finances stay within available funds at all times.
  • Responsible for management of all finance and lease agreements.
  • Line managing the Group Finance Clerk, to ensure that internal arrangements for managing the financial requirements sustained of the business are established and sustained. To ensure that the operational activities necessary to achieve financial compliance with statutory requirements are delivered through the Practice Managers.
  • Line managing the Group Finance Clerk to develop and implement a system of budget management with clear arrangements for delegated authorisation limits, financial targets and review and monitoring of performance. ln addition, to develop and implement systems of financial control and assurance consistent with the annual planning framework and annual accounts
  • To oversee the development of a group capital asset register and equipment replacement programme to be managed on a day to day basis by Practice Managers.
  • To work with the Managing Partner, Practice Managers and Group Finance clerk on the development and implementation of a group pay policy.
  • To be accountable to the Managing Partner for the delivery of agreed financial targets and cost management objectives in line with the annual plan. To work with the Group Finance clerk on the generation and use of financial information to inform management decisions.
